For the longest time Jason and I have been trying to get out to Cluckster’s for some wings and we finally found time that worked for the two of us to make the drive out to College Park to chow down on the famous Cluck-U, now Cluckster’s wings. Yes I know the name of the establishment has changed to be a more “family friendly” name but the wings are the same. We decided to order two flavors each so we could try more of a variety. Cluckster’s has more than four flavors and also offers a wing flavor of the day besides their everyday flavors. The four we tried are:
1. Garlic and Cheese- This wing was a good sized wing and very meaty. The wings came out covered in cheese and where nice and crispy. They were not too salty and the after tastes of the wings were garlicky. These wings did not have an overpowering taste of garlic or saltines from the parmesan cheese and had a good marriage between the two. I also liked how the bottom of the basket was not covered in grease how most garlic and cheese wings are. GOOD/EXCELLENT
2. Buffalo Tradition: This is one of Cluckster’s traditional wings and sauces. I was not that impressed with this wing mainly because it was breaded which takes away from the heat and spice of the Buffalo sauce. The sauce on the wings also causes the breading that was coating the wings to be all soggy and unappetizing. Soggy wings are never good to eat. When the wings were served you could smell the vinegar in the sauce and when tasted on its own was a pretty decent sauce ruined by the breading of the wings. The overall spice and flavor in the sauce is decent and one I would love to try if this wing was served as a naked wing. If these wings were not soggy they would have received a better rating. FAIR
3. Hickory BBQ: I am not a fan of BBQ wings, as many people know and if there is a slightly off tasting BBQ sauce I will definitely not like it. This BBQ sauce was definitely off. It had a smoky taste with a sweet flavor as you first bite into it. It also tasted as if they added black pepper to their sauce to make it seem smokier which only made the BBQ sauce worse. These wings were also breaded and due to the thick Hickory BBQ sauce on the breaded wings the wings where then soggy and unappetizing. NEVER AGAIN
4. Cajun BBQ: These wings came out and were also heavily breaded with a gooey sauce making the wings very soggy. The taste of the sauce was so funky they were not pleasant to eat at all. The sauce was an herby sauce with some sort of blackening seasoning or flavor additive mixed in. The combination of the herbs and blackening flavor was not a good mix. The flavor of the sauce was a not an appetizing Cajun flavor but an overall miss of mixed flavors. NEVER AGAIN
Though two of the wings I tried I would never get again I would for sure go back to this establishment. I would go back because they do offer other flavors and styles of wings that I would want to try and I want to at least give them the benefit of the doubt when they are known for wings and some places can have some downers.

Why did you try so many bbq wings, if you say you hate the flavor?
Just order the damn wings that you think you would like next time!
I agree. This person (Angie) is completely useless.
Wing joints that have multiple flavors I tend to go with more than one person to share the wings. Many people order the BBQ wings and other flavors that I seems to rate not as high, it is all a personal opinion.
