Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge

Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge- website
2 Preserve Parkway Rockville.MD

I went out to the Rockville, MD area to have some dinner and get the wings at Clyde’s Tower Oaks Lodge.  This place is super cool inside.  If you are interested in going to a Clyde’s this is better than a regular Clyde’s because of the setting in the lodge.  I would recommend going there and hanging out just for the ambiance.   Of course when I went I had to order to the wings on the menu.  I did not know that you could order them double dipped (fried twice), a big thank you to Percy for knowing the secrets to ordering at this place. We decided to order the wings and split them by getting half regular buffalo style and the other half double dipped.  When they came they looked pretty decent and I wish they tasted half as decent as they looked:

1.       Buffalo Style: These wings came out and they were covered in buffalo sauce that was watery and not spicy.  It seemed like they were running out of sauce and added water to make it last the night when in reality they probably were just using a crappy sauce for their buffalo wings.  The skin on the wings was soggy and chewing and unappetizing.  I wish it was crispy and the sauce had some flavor.  The blue cheese dressing they served on the side was also watery and had no blue cheese chunks at all.  The only good part was the wings were a decent size and still had juicy meat.  NEVER AGAIN

2. Double Dipped:  These wings came out naked.  When I say naked they were legit naked, double fried wings with no sauce or seasoning of any kind on them.  So if you have ever tried a chicken wing with no sauce on them or no salt or pepper, nothing…. you would know they taste like nothing.  So yes, the wings were crispy and I preferred the outside crispy fried skin on these wings much better than the buffalo style chewy soggy skin but there was no flavor to the wings.  The buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing was served on the side.  The buffalo sauce and blue cheese was the exact same watery mess that added little to no flavor.  Don’t worry, Percy and I still ate all the wings, we are just not in a rush to go back and get the wings again.  NEVER AGAIN
