Old Dominion Brewhouse located just on the edge of the Convention Center is a little hidden gem for watching games, having a beer tower, getting sushi happy hour with chicken fingers or whatever you want. This bar seems to be one of those bars that just can’t make up its mind as to what it likes so it embracing all kinds of food and sports to have everything. The one food they did not embrace was the chicken wing. If you are going to have all sorts of beer specials and advertise a slew of sporting events you need to have a good chicken wing on your menu. The chicken wing on the Old Dominion menu is called “Naked Buffalo Wings.” The menu then says “there’s a new wing in town! Perfectly marinated and served with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.” The only thing true about the menu listing is that it came with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. I went to get some wings and other happy hour delights, I thought, with Jason R. To our dismay the food was uhh so-so. I would go back for other items on the happy hour menu but I would not the wings in particular. For one thing we ordered a large amount and I would say at least ¼ of them came out undercooked. That is just disgusting. I really don’t know anyone who eats raw or undercooked chicken. The sauce itself I find to be humorous. This place calls their wings “perfectly marinated” I think not, more like “perfect disaster”. The wings were a sweet, tangy not spicy at all, and weird linger in your mouth after taste. I want to say I will never get them again but since this bar is close to where I live I can’t really say that because it is the only wing they offer so there is a chance I might sadly order them again but not be happy about it. However they do get a never again rating.
