Hoboken, NJ (Just in case you travel a little)
GOOD/ EXCELLENT
Last weekend I went to Hoboken, NJ to celebrate Frankie’s dirty 30 birthday! A large group went out to the city to celebrate over an amazing dinner at Tao and then drinks at Ginger Man. The next day when we got up and before I had to go we decided it would be ideal to grab lunch at a nearby bar. Lucky for us it was the Giants vs. Redskins game that afternoon. Unlucky for me I didn’t have any Redskins clothing packed for my weekend but then again being surrounded by Giants fans at this very crowded bar I was better off in my black hoodie. We originally chose Wicked Wolf Tavern because we saw on their online menu that they carried tots! I mean who doesn’t like tots and football, wish I would have a brew to drink but that would have sucked to have been hung-over on the crowded bus ride back to DC I had ahead of me. This bar is pretty awesome in my eyes, they have plenty of TV’s to see the games, have beer towers, offer a great menu, have a DJ playing during commercials and best of all have .50 cent wings on Sundays during football!!!!!! Of course I had to order some wings. Frank and I are a perfect wing team, he likes the drummies and I like the flats….. niiiice. We ordered one round of wings since we also wanted to get other food to see how this bar held up. It also claims to be a Villanova basketball viewing bar, winner winner! Frankie and I decided to go for traditional buffalo wings, medium since hot only meant they put jalapeños on the wings, ehhhh no thank you. When the wings came out they were piping hot and you could smell the spices and vinegar yumminess that we were about to devour. Their wings were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and steamy, fresh, tender meat on the inside… oh yes you are now hungry for wings. I wish I lived in Hoboken just to eat these wings every day. They are a great everyday wing and Cluck-U-Chicken down the street from them should be scared that people will flock to Wicked Wolf for these wings instead of Cluck-U’s. When I return to Hoboken next, Frankie and I need to try the other flavor wings they offer: BBQ and Teriyaki.
