The Big Hunt

1345 Connecticut Ave NW

Never Again

I know people are gunna get pissed and say I like to eat a lot of wings but I seem to always say they all suck. It isn’t my fault that most of D.C. has some crappy wings! If there were decent wings then I would say that. The Big Hunt advertises that they have .15 cent wing night on Tuesday and since I am super cheap this was a perfect Tuesday night outing for me. The one thing that kinda throws me a curve ball is the timing of when their happy hour is and when they serve their wings. They run their happy hour specials from 4-7pm and then they start serving their cheap ass and ass tasting wings from 7-11pm. Around 6:30pm or so you can see people bring in large silver disposable chafing dishes that smell of wings, but oddly enough not very appetizing ones. Now the Big Hunt has their own kitchen so why would they have these wings imported from somewhere else? Especially why would they have disgusting wings brought in? After having a couple drinks from happy hour I was ready to get my wing eating on with some delicious wings and was sadly faced with a bowl of sadness. I mean children all over the world were crying at the sad shape of these wings. Don’t get me wrong they were a decent size but hot buffalo sauce… I think not, tender juicy meat… nowhere in sight… warm and steamy… more like cold and soggy. Ok so Troy and I ordered 18 wings between the two of us and only paid $2.70 for the bowl of wings and had no trouble eating all of them but I was still gravely disappointed in the wings that were placed in front of me. I don’t care if you are giving me a good price on the wings I think it is a disgrace to the poor chicken that lost its wings to make them taste so bad and serve them cold and soggy. So to all those little chickens out there I ate all 9 wings no matter how gross they were. I will not be eating wings at this establishment again.
