FAIR
It was one of those typical Wednesdays where I had the itch for some wings. Becca M recently returned to D.C. from Africa, yes Africa… and I knew she would be down for some wings. Before Becca M left for Africa she was a great wing eating partner and would always be down for a new adventure. I know that one of the biggest things she must have craved while away in Africa was the taste of hot spicy wings. We decided to hit up Laughing Man Tavern since they have .35 cent wing night every Wednesday. Laughing Man offers three types of wings BBQ, Buffalo and Jerk, we tried the following:
1. Buffalo- When these wings came out they were covered in a Buffalo sauce. This is a sauce that anyone could eat. If you like spicy food this would be okay but not ideal for you and if you like mild or medium you could eat these also. The Buffalo sauce on these wings is not over bearing in the heat category. The wings themselves are a good size and taste pretty decent until they start to cool down. Becca M and I both agree that the wings were pretty good at first and then as they got lukewarm to the sauce started to congeal and get all sorts of funky. I would try them again I just need to make sure to eat them piping hot! FAIR
2. Jerk- The Jerk chicken wings also came out piping hot and where covered in a sauce. If I had to have either the Jerk wings or the Buffalo wings again I would go with the Buffalo. The sauce on these wings did not bring back any memories of Jamaica. Instead these wings tasted like a smoky pepper sauce. I really need to hit up some Jamaican joint to get some Jerk wings and stop wasting my time and appetite on these wanna be wings. These wings were not great to begin with and as they cooled down they became less satisfying and even weirder. Over all I am not sure this would be my next go to Wednesday night wing joint if it was the last one open on Wednesday. NEVER AGAIN
