FAIR
I would claim these are the best for fast, crispy and fried wing; however they are FAIR on the scale of best wings in D.C. If you get them early, and are in a rush for wings, which is practically every night for me, then these are pretty decent wings. If you get to the store too late they are usually picked over and sadly it is usually me you can see doing the picking over. This is a grocery store that makes self-serve food on the hot bar so no one really watches to see when the wings get dried out or have been there for too long so make sure you get there early after work. Also, a good reason to get there early is if you are lucky you can get there when they put the fresh wings out and then you know that no little kid, or adult, has put their paws in the mix or sneezed on the food. I mean really those sneeze guards don’t do shit! There are two types of wings there a plain fried wing that is not hot at all and then a spicy fried wing that must have some sort of spice in the flour/batter they dip the wing in to give it some heat. Some places call the spicy wings “wing zings” and the not spicy ones “wing dings.” They are both good but I prefer the “wing zings” not sneezed on and not pawed all over.
